Effective June 2026
InfraMap is an educational tool. We collect the minimum we need to understand how the product is used and to make it better. We do not run ads, and we do not sell data.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage events — things like "started the tour," "opened a power plant," "toggled a layer," along with the city or region name being explored. No account exists, and we do not collect names or email addresses.
- Conversations with Ohm — the questions you type to our grid guide and the answers it gives are logged so we can improve its responses. Please don't share personal information in chat.
- Approximate usage data — standard web analytics (page visits, browser type, country-level location). We never collect or store your precise location; the "use my location" feature resolves to the nearest city name in your browser and only that name is used.
Tools we use
Analytics are provided by Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless) and PostHog (no advertising cookies; session replays mask everything you type). AI answers may be processed by OpenAI via our server; your chat text is sent to them to generate the response and is subject to their API data policies.
Your choices
InfraMap works without an account and stores your tour progress only in your own browser (localStorage), which you can clear at any time. Questions, concerns, or deletion requests: contact@inframap.org.
